Calderdale Beer Festival 2019, Halifax. Hazy amber with its wood cask influence subduing the rhubarb and its associated sweetness in this one. It has a full bodied strength but is easy enough in the palate.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Glowing gold. Soft haze. Thick and foamy, loose bubbled, sticky, lasting, just off white head. Nose has unripe pineapple. Some yellow melon. Straw. Grass. As well there’s a real tart twang, that could be the NZ hops, or the rhubarb, or both. Whatever, it smells bright and inviting. Taste has some sweetness, but is mostly tangy, grassy bitter. Medium body. A bit overly fizzy. Tart bitterness to finish.
