From Delhaize, Brussels. At home.
Observations: I find the Guiness Foreign Extra Stout quite superior to this one. Consumed it a bit colder and faster than normally would.Solid beer though

330ml bottle. Pours a slightly transparent black with a lasting fine tan head. Aroma is mild dark malts. Beer is medium to heavy in body, sweet & bitter with good length. I don't really enjoy the mix of lots of hop bitterness along with the sweetness but if this is you then it will be great.

Pours a dark almost black colour with a creamy head. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel, coffee, liqourice, some dry fruit. Bittersweet finish. Very nice.

Bottle 0,3ltr: The wellknown Stout but the Belgian version thus higher alcohol and much sweeter and not so dry as the origanl one.

Bottle. How different can it be? Slightly less dark red/ brown with a large beige head. Mocha, wood aroma with that sour hint behind. Seems a little less roasty, more creamy and hoppy with a less austere finish (than FXS). But about as good. Maybe this just shades the normal version.

Bottle, tasted side by side with Guinness Nigeria Foreign Extra Stout. Color: Both black, stable light brown head. Aroma: Both roasted malt, milk chocolate. A little more roasted aroma at the Belgian version. Taste of the Nigerian version: Sweetish, I think typical Sorghum flavor (never tasted this, but it's definitely different from grain, more corn-like), roasted malt and milk chocolate notes, sweetish roasted malt finish. Taste of the Irish / Belgian version again has more flavor. Some more milk chocolate and roasted malt, grainy hints , floral hop backbone and a longer lasting roasted and bit hoppy finish. Both versions have a smooth mouthfeel, as we know from Guinness Stouts. I definitely prefer the Irish / Belgian Special Export version. Don't like the Nigerian version very much. Nice to have the change to taste both Guinness version together. Final Verdict: Nigerian version: 5 3 6 3 11 = 2.8 Drinkable, but nothing more. Irish / Belgian version: 7 3 7 3 13 = 3.3 Ok overall, but no need to try again.
