Bottled. Dark amber. Nice nutty malty tinge that finishes with the expected hops kick.

Decent uncomplicated beer. Straightforward for the style with some dark malt, roast and a bit of toffee. Slightly more sweet than bitter with good carbonation

12 oz. can from HEB in San Antonio. Pours a crystal clear deep bronze color with a khaki head and decent retention. Virtually no lacing. Sweet toffee aroma. Sweet caramel malt flavor with only a hint of bitterness in the finish. Reminds me of a bock beer. Smooth and clean, with very low carbonation. Almost flat. Medium-light body. I can't believe I've never had this before now, but I like it.

Can. Clear red/brown pour with a medium sudsy head that has fair retention. Lovely garnet hue when held to a light. The aroma is on the weak side with, malts, wet earth and caramel. The taste, like the aroma, has a caramel and toffee aspect that dominates throughout. There is also a trace of bitter pecan and walnuts. The palate seemed a bit on the thin side. Finished short with weak caramel. Overall: OK brew, a bit one dimensional. I expect more from a brewery like Odell.

To commemorate the first truly great weekend of the spring l am tasting Isolation Ale, obtained earlier today. Receiving the brew will be my Buffalo Bayou snifter and I see a grand gold-amber liquid topped with a steady, creamy, parchment-colored head. The scent is malt and something from the field. The taste builds on that, a caramel sweetness, wheat bread, plums and malt, all with a modest bitterness. Odell cranks out some pretty good beers.

330ml can at home. Pours a deep reddish amber. Thin fizzy off white head, aroma of biscuit and sweet bready malts, some oak and mahogany woody notes. Flavour is smooth and sweet malts, slight bit of resin bitterness. Easy drinker
