The chilli adds something different to the stout working well with the bitter chocolate flavour without overpowering the other flavours in the beer.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of madmitch76. Pours a clear dark brown with a warm tint of red and a light brown head. Comes as a slow but steady gusher. Sweet roasty nose. Medium body, sweet roast, excessive carbonation, vanilla - but very little chili. Hardly any bitternes. 150413

Bottle at my Pre-CBC Tune-Up Tasting. It pours very dark brown, with a thin beige head. The nose is warming chilli pepper (but not overpowering), caramel and roasted malt. The taste is roasted malt, chilli pepper, caramel and chocolate, with some lingering spice in the finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Thankfully the chilli is pretty restrained. Not too bad at all.

3rd December 2011
ChrisOs Early December Tasting. Clear dark brown beer, small bubbly tan head. Light palate, semi dry. Sweetish dark malt. Just a mild chilli thing going on, not too much burn. Finishes light and semi dry. Mild sweet chocolate. Allright.

Bottle. Almomst black in colour with a decent, tan head. Aroma of bitter chocolate with a hint of warmth and roastiness. Flavour had plenty more chocolate, with some prickly chilli warmth kicking in at the finish. Subtle and enjoyable.

Bottle at home shared with my dad 20.12.11 ordered direct from Bristol Beer Factory. Pours black with a light beige head, another good looker. The chilli is far more subtle than I was expecting having had a look at some of the ratings, in fact it works very well here. This is warming and chocolatey, quite thick in the mouth, smooth and creamy and heading towards being indulgent, it’s lovely. A6 A5 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6

Bottle at home as part of my 12 stout of christmas tasting ... deep brown black ... dark roast roast malts ... light hint of chilli nose ... light malt roast ... little thin in body ... soft chocolate roast with the chilli shining through ... little capsicum ... nice but its lack of body destroys what could be a wonderful beer
