Thin beige head on a dark brown extremely thin body. Malt & roasted aroma. Thin bodied soft on the tongue with a tingle on the back. Chocolate, malt, roasted & bitter tastes with a lightly hopped citrussy finish. Quaffer.

Cask @ Lyme Regis brewpub. Pours dark with small beige head. Aroma has lightly sweet, some chocolate, dark malt, dark berry hints. Good old style cask porter to taste, with softly sweet treacle glimpses.

Bottle ordered from the brewery. Aroma? I guess there is one in there somewhere... coffee berries, sour milk. Dark. Opaque. Brownest of brownie Brown's. Thick foamy white head. Medium-heavy bitter. Black coffee. Liquorice. Underlying malts give way to a sour edge. Medium bodied. Slick to creamy. Average carbonation. Long astringent finish. Nice enough. I'd compare it to a strong but cheap coffee. It's fine but doesn't really deliver.

Bottle that my wife got me from the brewery-thanks! Dark brown with a large beige head and a middling fizz. Chocolate and roasted malt up front, then a brief tang of lemon and lots of blackcurrant and blackcurrant leaves. Something savoury there too- salt and maybe twiglets. Long-lasting roasty finish. Tasty and interesting.

Bottle on holiday in Lyme Regis. Clear dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is light and semi dry and smooth. Thin dark malts, some tangy dark chocolate and roast bitterness. Modest coffee. Little dark fruits. Dry finish. Just another porter.

Cask. Black colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is roasted malts, some ashes, mild dark ripe fruit with some slight berries and toffee as well. Flavour is ashes, roasted malts, some berries and mild chocolaty/coffeeish notes as well. Quite pleasantly balanced porter.
