Bottle from Sainsburys. Amber copper colour, very see through, small white head. Aroma bit apple, bit marzipan, slightly hoppy. Slight stink. Taste is slightly bitter, not much hoppiness though. Bit of caramel malty sweetness. Not very exciting, but nothing bad about it. Just very average.

Bottle at royal mile considering this place is out of business not sure how old this bottle is. Copper pour white head. Nose is florals and grainy tastes of grains, toffee, some hops, floral. A little bitter and a little sweet. Creamy mouthfeel.

500 ml bottle. Hazy amber orange color. Small creamy beige head. Nice lacing. Subtle biscuit malt nose. Notes of citrus and Darjeeling tea. Grainy toasted malt flavor with hints of tobacco and more brewed tea. Light citrus hops in finish.

500ml Bottle: best before 28 July 2012, poured into a ’Batemans’ badged pint sleeve on 17 July 2012. Impressive looking brew: lovely amber body. The head a deep, lasting crown of tight bubbles. The nose is a hoppy mix of citrus fruits and piney nut aromas. The taste is also hops all the way with a dry bitterness from the first sip to the last: sadly as the beer warmed in the glass a metallic and sour presence showed itself. Might have been the fact it’s BBD was only 10 days away? Slightly over carbonated for my taste, just a bit too ’fizzy’. What began as a great tasting turned into a nasty mid-way through: I’ll not be having another of these.

Cask at Dirty Dick’s, London. Pours clear, bright amber with a small, foamy white head. Some toasty caramel in the nose with lots of leaves, and some mild, semi-ripe fruits. Light sweet flavor with dirty-leafy bitterness, some dried fruits (citrusy) and some dry wood and bitter toast. Light to medium in body with fine carbonation. Decent condition. Medium bitter and fairly dry to finish; it needs a touch more sugar to a achieve a nice balance. A hint too bitter as it is, leafy and lightly grassy. Some toasty dough and semi-ripe fruits in the aftertaste. Not bad in the end.

Flavour is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, metalic. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, malt, nutty, fruity, light to moderate hoppy. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, malty, fruity.
