Poured into a mug, the appearance was a semi-clear brown color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a decent pace. Some light lace slides around the glass and on into the beer.
The aroma had some milk chocolate up front and then some dark chocolate. Some roastiness and bitterness comes in slightly.
The flavor leans towards a light roasted malt and then the chocolate sweetness along with the bitterness comes in. An ever so slight metallic comes out, but nothing really disheartening, I guess I somewhat accepted it. Super sweet chocolatey aftertaste rolling into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Metallic quality doesn’t show up and the malts just move right along my tongue. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt appropriate.
Overall, for the most part, it’s not a bad porter, not sure where the metallic is coming from since it’s in a bottle, maybe perhaps while in the vat, not sure. And not sure if I’d have again.

Light bodied traditional style porter. Aged in coco nibs from Ghana and fresh vanilla beans the coffee come through but vanilla not so much. Dark toasty and slight chalky. Thin but tasty enough.
