Clear dark reddish brown with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt and coffee. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Dry and light bitter finish. 180212

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are roast malt, chocolate, notes of coffee and hops.

Bottle 750ml. w. swing top.[ Courtesy of OPE ]. Clear dark red brown colour with a huge, frothy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, dark roasted, caramel, coffee, dark berries, wood, oxidide notes. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet, light acidic and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, chocolate, malt bitter, dark malt. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20111222]

Swing top bottle(750ml). -bought all 4 Alphand beers in a local souvenir and liquor store in Risoul, Hautes Alpes, France. Costs ridiculous high 5.50€ per bottle.
Dark brown coloured, creamy beige head, cheese mouldy nose. Aroma of roasted malt and coffee with not so pleasant odd (alpine) herbal notes. Maybe notes of anise. Short metallic finish.

Black color. Nice aroma, fruity, with some roasted malts. Sweet, good body, roasted malt, well bitter. Very pleasant.

Bottled. Near black, Very chocolatey nose. Quite sweet. Roasty and salty, perhaps a bit thin. Notes of licorice. Somewhat sharp finish.
