Bottle 500ml.Clear dark black brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to light light heavy malty, roasted, burnt, dark chocolate, coal. Flavour is moderate sweet and light to light moderate bitter with a average to long duration, roasted, burnt malt. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20111211]

50cl bottle from Morrisons. An attractive sooty black with a loose tan head; with a caramel aroma; smooth and velvety with a distinct taste of licorice amidst the almost burnt malts; the finish is slightly bitter and satisfying. A rather good porter.

Bottle from Morrisons. Black colour, thin beige head. Nose is roasted malts, chocolate and liquorice. Flavour is roasted malts, dark chocolate, bit of ash, some fruits. Roasty finish. Pretty decent.

Appearance Black, ruby edges, big tan head, good lacing,
Aroma Roasted malt, bit of coffee, burnt crust, bit woody, hint of smoke.
Taste Roasted malts, coffee, burnt crust, liquorice, woody, some bitter chocolate.
Palate Soft carb, thin body. Finish a little dry, bitter chocolate, roasted malt, slightly charred.
Overall Good porter...well made..aroma/taste/finish quite similar, not complex but good and quite quaffable.

Bottle from Morrisons. Black pour with a tan head. Caramel, vanilla, malts and a little coffee in the aroma. Vanilla, butterscotch flavour with some coffee notes. Dry finish. Quite a tasty porter.
