A hazelnut imperial stout aged in a Bourbon Barrel for 8 months with true barrel aged characteristics. Hazelnut on the nose with a nice bourbon warming sensation on the throat. This beer also has notes of raspberry/cherry with a slight tartness on the back end.

Draft at the Tin Cannon second anniversary party. Poured a very dark brown color, not totally pitch black color though. Aroma was light maple sweetness on the nose and hazelnut liquor notes. A touch too sweet. Raspberry and some cherry are hidden behind the beer’s sweetness. Needs more roast to balance sweetness. Maybe a blend with some non-barrel aged beer if that was possible.
