When it’s quitting time around the brewery the team can often be caught snagging a pint of this British style malt forward IPA. We call it Fog-O’clock and it’s becoming a bit of a Yukon trend! Unlike the hundreds of other IPAs out there, we’re not going for the “hip and hop” award with this brew, going over the top with bitterness. It’s a session beer for folks who appreciate an IPA with balance.

355mL bottle, pours clear golden yellow with almost no head. Aroma of bready malts / cereal, hay and stale grassy / citrusy hops. Flavour of one-dimensional citrusy hops with slight malt backing. Quite a weak IPA.

An IPA with training wheels, this has a solid hoppy, upfront nose with lots of citrus and tropical fruit notes. The body is light, very hop forward with little backbone or complexity. The finish is somewhat bitter. A good approachable IPA for those unfamiliar with the style. A six pack is good for partying when majority of people are non-beer geeks, but want to try a bit more. Good for your parents, or at least my parents, good for your neighbor, who wants to know what all this ’craft beer’ stuff is all about, good high school kids just wanting to explore beer and don’t know what they like yet, good for that third date you have at home and cook her dinner and she wants to try some of you craft beer, good after long hike. This beer has lots of potential uses.
