From a 750ml bottle on 27/4/2015 (birthday present courtesy of my wonderful wife). Pours a cloudy dark brown with a medium head. Has a pleasant nose featuring some chocolate malt and light fruity hops. The flavour follows suit, with sweet dark malts (chocolate, caramel), some citrus fruit (orange), and a reasonably firm dash of hops, with just a hint of roastiness in the bitterness. Full bodied with a thick texture and average carbonation. Not the wildest big black IPA out there, but nicely balanced (though ultimately falling on the sweet side) and very cohesive.

750 ml bottle with a date stamped date of 27 Jan 2014. Pitch black color with some mild lasting head in the snifter. Aroma is burnt coffee bean, dark chocolate and pine hops. Flavor is about the same as the aroma. Body is pretty thick with a charred malt and dark grain finish.
