Bottle(s) at the Crown, Hazlemere, 11/05/17. Golden copper with a decent off white cap. Nose is caramel, orange, bread dough, grains, lemon sherbet. Taste comprises caramel malt, toasted bread, light spice, faint pine lick, orange peel. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with moderate hop bitterness. Fine for what it is ... would rather drink bottles of this in the local as opposed to cask GK IPA!

Keg at the Grain & Hop Store, Cambridge. Deep gold, clear. Very, very, very fizzy with a medium to large white head. Aroma is extremely muted. There’s some gummy/resinous hop notes, but not much at all really. The taste is bitter and astringent, with a startling lack of balance that continues to the messy long finish. Well-carbonated, I’ll say that much for it. A poor rendition of the style.

Draft at the bar near Victoria coach station. Clear amber with a cream head. Aroma of butterscotch, toffee, malt and citrus. Flavour is above light sweet and above moderate bitter. Light to medium bodied with very soft carbonation. A lot more juicy than the aroma first suggests.

Bottle at home in London - sourced from Offie & Toffee. Pours totally clear orange-gold, effervescent, with a creamy, off-white head. The aroma holds dry pale malts, some English yeast, hay, lightly aged tangerine peel. Lightly sweet with some doughy pale malts, grassy and husky bittereness, lemon rind. Light bodied with average, massaging carbonation. Finishes with further vague citrus notes, dry bready malts, lingering bitter grass and grain husk. Very ho hum.
