Pale yellow coloured body with no head at all! Aroma of strong malt, alcohol and sugar. Full-bodied; Strong assertive taste of of alcohol, malt and fruits. Aftertaste shows a full-bodied flavour and strong as hell. A decent beer, not ’large’, but good flavoured with malt and hops coming through most often. Overall, an okay beer - not too special though. I sampled this beer on draught at Henry’s 12th St. Tavern in Portland, Oregon on 09-September-2006.

Draft at the brewpub. Pours a clear pale amber color with a small off-white head. Has a malty hoppy pine aroma with hints of grapefruit. Dry malty and hoppy bitter piny flavor with hints of grapefruit. Has a long dry malty hoppy bitter pine needles finish with a long bitter aftertaste.

A hazy copper colored beer with a thin tan head. Both the aroma and flavor are sweet malty with primary notes of grass. I find the body thin.

Draught at ale house. Strong nose of fruit malt and hops. Beige head. Deep copper colour. Strongly hopped with full flavour, I tasted this all over my tongue. Hoppy finish like a kiss. This is a fine cool weather strong ale.

First tasted summer ’06 with a 3.1 total score. Re-tasted at the brewpub in summer ’07. Beautiful bright copper colour. Citrusy, woody hops with slightly toasty malts. Deep, balanced earthiness. Woody, mossy, very grapefruity hop character. Toasty malts with a hint of chocolate. Lovely.

On Tap at the brewpub. Medium light amber with a very large white head and nice thick lacing. Softer swet hop aroma than the IPA and a more overall balance in the flavor as well, with less of the late biting bitterness as well. Nice overall hefty brew.
