Panda at home, thanks to Kenneth, 30/05/2026.
Black with a khaki cap formed of thinly knit bubbles that veers to the edge.
Nose is dark malts, toasted brown sugars, hint of soy sauce,
Taste comprises dried fruit rinds, light spice, soy sauce, tangy fruits, sherry vibes.
Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, drying close.
Okay sipper ... hasn't aged too badly.

Imperial stout commissioned by the Waregemse Bierfanaten in 2008, with thin but dense and stable, creamy, off-white head and black colour with reddish hue, only visible under bright light. Complex aroma, sweet and spicy, candi syrup, caramel, coffee, banana, mango, port wine, liquorice, dates, some woodiness. Dark fruits in the mouth, deep, smooth maltiness, bit ’greasy’, rounded, even a bit syrupy but not cloying, mineral-like carbonation, herbal liquorice, coffee- and chocolate-like malts, roasted bitterness in the end with a sweetish, port wine-like warming alcohol accent. Very good.

Opaque dark brown beer, tidy tan head. Smooth airy palate with mild carbonation. Sweet tangy fruit salad sweets turning slightly sour. Splash of coca cola and a drop of HP Brown sauce. A little chocolate adds even more complexity. Trace of cherry before the semi dry finish. Tasty and interesting.

Almost black beer, firm creamy beige head. No gusher at all. Aroma of malts, raisins, coffee, chocolate milk, brown sugar, dried dark fruits and chocolate milk. Light sourness in the flavour, compensated by sweet touches and coffee flavours. Finish is cocoa, roasted malts, warming alcohol, with fresh acidic touches.
Nicely and interestingly aged, really lovely.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, bread, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with over ripe fruits, roasted malt, chocolate, and yeast, leading to a dry roated finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a cloudy opaque dark brown with a reddish hue and a creamy beige head. Roasty nose, some raisin. Rich body, subtle roast, dark dried fruits and....heavy lactic acid. The tartness really grows in a rather unpleasant way here spoiling most of the fun. 130612

3/VI/2012 - 33cl bottle from Etre Gourmet @ home (2012-592)

Very dark to black beer, creamy beige to brown head, pretty stable, non adhesive. Aroma: lots of chocolate first, brown candi sugar, caramel, alcohol, dried fruits, raisins, mocha. MF: good carbon, medium to full body. Taste: very sour start, totally unexpected, sour berries, lemon, red wine vinegar, some dry astringent, raspberries, quite alcoholic, little sweet, candi sugar. Aftertaste: dried cranberries, some raisins, little bitter, touch of caramel, lots of alcohol warming the throat, mocha, bitter coffee, bit peppery. Now that's quite a mouth full, isn't it?
