Bottle from Trader Joe’s in Davis, CA. Pours dark translucent gold with a white head. Mango aroma. Near med body. Flavor is mango. Strong. Pretty much obscures any malt. It’s fruity, not very dry, not very bitter, just very mango. Ok for a change.

There really is a candy fruity aroma. Rather pale golden color with a thin white head- which disappears fast. I don’t smell apricot. The start is a perfumy fruit. I think we are talking some kind of tropical fruit. I am not getting that distinct hop finish, though there is some bitterness lingering in the background. Finally a passing hint of apricot. The carbonation hangs around and affects the flavor profile. This is damn unique.

12 is. bottle from Buck’s Wholesale on Virgin Gorda, BVI. Copper color, with some seltzer bubbles, but no head. Strong mango nose, with some juniper, cloves, and corn syrup. Sweet and malty, with a pretty awful bitterness. Light body, sticky, and acidic. This was a slightly promising beer from the initial nose, but was unpleasant and difficult to drink.

Ugh. Tastes like mango juice concentrate gone bad. Maybe if I was in the Virgin Islands and not in Massachusetts in March this would taste better.
