Draught from W-front. Poured a dark red, lots of hops and caramel to taste and some spices. Alco was noticeable.

Poured and shared from a bottle it is a clear amber with an ecrue head aroma of apricot and tastes bitter with a metal overtone

From a 22 oz bottle shared at home. Pours a clear amber with an ecru head. Malty nose. Resinous pine notes with a dominant malt backbone. Very tasty.

Sampled on draft at Smokin’ Joe’s this beer poured a medium nut brown color with a medium sized creamy off white head that left good lacing. The aroma was fairly strong fruity and floral hops with an undertone of toasted caramel. The flavor was somewhat bitter and tangy with burnt caramel, wood, rough fruity hops and a bit of pine underneath. Long burnt caramel and rough fruity hop finish. Medium body. Ok.

Bottle: Poured a deep amber color ale with a relatively large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of citrus and piney hops with medium sweet malt backbone. Taste is also dominated by citrus and somewhat piney hops mix with some caramelized malt backbone with some residual sugar discernable. Body is somewhat full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Nothing earth shattering but good strong imperial red.

Dégustée en fût chez "The Reservoir Restaurant & Taproom" à Waterbury, VT. De couleur ambrée foncée et claire. Nez de houblon moyennement herbeux et fruité (agrumes), légèrement citrique et aux petites notes résineuses, moyen de malt sucré aux notes rôties, léger de caramel avec des traces de biscuits. Moyennement ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen ainsi qu’une texture moyennement huileuse. Goût moyen-léger amer de houblon moyennement fruité (agrumes) aux notes citriques, florales et résineuses (une amertume présente en arrière-goût toute la gorgée) lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute un goût de grains de malt moyennement sucrés et légèrement rôtis avec des notes de caramel et des notes de pain grillé puis en finale l’amertume de houblon se fait légèrement asséchante et légèrement plus herbeuse. Post-goût moyen-long et légèrement sec, moyennement amer de houblon herbeux, légèrement fruité aux notes résineuses et citriques avec des traces rôties. (1er mai 2013)

Tasting at Papsø’s
Hazy red-amber color, with small head. Aroma of caramel, vegetables, dust. The flavor is better, caramel, moderate sweetness, strong bitterness, some vegetables again. Nothing special.

Bomber from Half Time. Pours ruddy amber with a foamy beige head. Aroma is citrus. With roast malt. Med+ body. Flavor is pretty roasted malt with quite a bit of hop. Citrus/resin. Floral too. It’s a nice drink that finishes not quite dry. Malt stays in to the end.

A dark reddish amber ale with a thin light mocha head. In aroma, sweet caramel malt with nice British hops, lightly floral, some light dark fruits, not bad. In mouth, a sweet nutty malt with grassy British hops, light astringency, warming alcohol, unbalanced and a bit harsh. On tap at Reservoir, March 12 2012.

22 oz. bottle from Epping Meats & Market place for $6.99. Want to guess the color of this beer? Yep, it’s a deep red with little to no head even during an aggressive pour. Very light Co2. Nose is mostly caramel with pine resin. Medium body shows flavors of caramel malt, a touch of toffee and a decent amount of pine hops. Long, lingering resin bitterness. ABV is masked well. Balanced well enough. This brew was exactly what I was expecting and craving. Not something I’m running to go buy more of but… it’s a hoppy red ale that hop lovers, (who like pine) should enjoy.
