A tropical hop fuelled West Coast wanderer, the Armadillo transcends the ages, expect waves of zesty citrus rolling over local barley, giving a nod to the session ales of yesteryear, hop amplified for flavour, this is beer for the present day.

Keg at OX184, Edinburgh, Friday 18th March 2016 in the company of Dad and Barry. Warm gold in colour with a white head, very good clarity. Refreshing pale ale, some light fruitiness on nose, juicy but unable to pick out anything in particular in aroma. Quite juicy in the mouth a light beer little thin, but still very good. On tap at OX184, Edinburgh. Pours clear golden with white head. Citrus, zesty, fruity. Bit lacking aroma, maybe it wasn’t the freshest keg. Light bodied and easy drinkable, but bit thin for my taste.

Draft at Taps Beer Bar, Changkat. Poured a murky medium amber with a long lasting frothy white head. The aroma is citrus, light floral hop, some yeast. The flavour is moderate bitter with a big citrus, woody hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

330ml bottle from Firma bier. Pours reddish orange with a small head. Aroma of malts, caramel, grass and pine. Taste is crisp, grassy and piney with some herbal notes. Finish is smooth and hoppy with some grass, pine and caramel. Okay.

Tap at Maxs. Filtered orange-tan body. Foamy, creamy, steady white head. Really tasty. I could go for more session IPA like this. Really easy going, my first UK session IPA. Finings notes. Sort of grows a little bland by the end.

Tap@Ox184, Edinburgh (19/02/2016) - golden Amber pour with white covering. Aroma and taste is citrus fruity with pleasing tangerine and lemon, citrus peel, some light pale malt, packs allot of flavour for the abc. Good sessioner.

Cask form Malt and Hops, Leith. I thought it was ’Amarillo’ when I ordered. Pooh. Anyway, it’s a mid-gold colour, very little visible carbonation or head. Nice aroma, lots of grapefruit but with a decidedly malty base. Taste is gently bittersweet without being terribly exciting. Some citrus suggestions poke out in the finish. Ok, but I wouldn’t call this a session IPA.

Very light session beer. A hint of citrus but hops aren’t super fresh here. Pours golden with great head and carpet lacing. Tap at Churchkey.
