As with any barley wine, esppecially the american varieties, this needs to be aged. Mild smell of sweet attractive perfume. Makes me nervous. A little darker than a pale ale but the lacing is simply very nice and titlating. Fun and almost see thru, yeah. Taste is somewhat thick and viscous, mouth coating alky imact happening here. Sweet high alky bullshit fer sure. On tap at the bocktwon, very nice palce, especially the one in monaca yes. American wannah be barley wine, it is what it is but let er rest for a couple of years will yah? Medicinal finish, not fer the typical lager lover. Yes nasty medicinal finish.

On tap at Taco Mac. Dark copper color with a very thin, beige head. Smells like butterscotch, caramel, resin, peat, and dates. Cloyingly sweet, with a significant bitterness. Heavy body, sticky, syrupy, and astringent. Overall, this is a strong, heavy, and sweet beer, with a good hop profile. Generally powerful, but still pleasant and approachable. Very nice.

Tasting at Papsø’s
Cloudy orange-amber color, with small head. Malt and vanilla aroma, sweet nuts, macadamia. Malt flavor, sweet and strong, with a few elements to cut the sweetness: bitterness, alcohol; the hopping is very resiny too; nice fudge touch too; strong ending final. Very good.

Bottled. An unclear golden beer with a thin lazing off-white head. The flavor has notes of fruit, malt, and cararmel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, straw, and over ripe fruits, leading to a dry finish.
