Keg at the Earl of Essex - London. Pours clear, red-brown with. Fine, creamy head. Nose holds some dark fruits and sugary bread. Medium sweet flavor with simple, dark bready malt sugars, grapes and raisins, touches of brown sugar, toast, earth. Light to medium in body with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, lightly syrupy with more dark and sugary bread, very light earthy bitterness, grapes. Simple and a little sweet, but still decent.

On tap at The Rake, London. Clear ruby. A very fruity malty beer. Yes some lager puke on aroma. It’s an alright fruity malt dunkel. More fruity than anything else. Some carb sting on finish. Finishes better than it starts. OK, fruit is good. But lacks that bit of special.2.8. re rate bottle from House of Trembling Madness York and drunk at home. better than before but a bit sweet. nutty. malty. ok.

bottle, Billa Gmünd. Clear brown colour, large beige head. Malty nose with hints of caramel. Very malty, sweet-sih body with some underlying hoppy flavours. Lovely and intensive flavours of roasted malts and caramel, also forest honey. I really enjoyed it, and it reminded me of good Czech dark beers (no wonder: this one is brewed only a few miles from teh border).
