Klare dunkelbraune Farbe mit weißer Schaumkrone. Malziger, leicht röstmalziger Geruch. Geschmacklich malzig, leicht röstmalzig, Anklänge an Karamell. Mittlere Süße mit leichter Bitterkeit, mittlerer Körper mit spürbarer Kohlensäure.

From the bottle. Dirty brown with a foamy head that proves to be fleeting. Mild aroma of toasted grains. Taste is mildly sweet with mineral notes and a light roasted bitterness at the end. Light to medium body wit a watery texture. Blah.

Test vom 18.7.2009, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,8,10,8,12,9 - 9,30

0.5l bottle. Dark ruby body, light brown head. Aroma of caramel and some sweet dried fruits. Taste of caramel, minimal roastyness and some red berries. One of the sweeter schwarzbiers.

Bottle: ruby-amber coloured, smaller stable off-white foamy layer, sweetish - light to moderate - roasty to dark-malty nose; light to moderate dryish bitter-sweet flavour, almost medium bodied and soft; sweetish fruity and dark-malty finish. A pleasant Schwarzbier...

Brown 500ml bottle, best before 17 Dec 2010, my second beer during my 2 July 2010 German beer evening. Poured (twice) into my ’Paderborner’ tall vase shaped glass. Dark brown with reddy hints with a thick tan head. The aroma was of burnt/roasted/toasted malts with semi-sweet molasses as it warmed. The taste was malty, but a little dry up front, the dryness continueing throughout the mouthfeel. I thought the body a bit thin, but I always do with German black beers, they just seem to lack character where they most need it and have very little richness or depth.
