22 oz. bottle, shared by Albert. Pours a murky brown, with a small, foamy, beige head. The aroma is very whiskey forward, with notes of charred oak, tobacco, peat, and vanilla. Notes of pumpernickel and rye, a touch of cherries, and black pepper. Sweet and malty, with a bit of bitterness and maybe even a hint of sour flavors, but not in an off way. Medium body, grainy and malty, sharp, and a little biting, but in a surprisingly enjoyable way. This is a fun and thoroughly interesting beer. The bourbon character is nice on top of a relatively light beer, and it manages to not be too boozy.
