Taking its name from both Mokha, a historical port city for the distribution of African coffees, and the Sidamo province in Ethiopia, Mokasida is a regional blend of coffees that showcases the subtle characteristics of East African beans. When paired with the chocolate and roast character of our imperial stout, Mokasida imparts notes of cocoa, blueberry, and sweet potatoes to make a truly unique beer.

Adding a spike of fresh ground coffee and cocao to the Speedway really puts this classic over the top. A beautiful, dense, deep tan head on a dead black body. The nose leads with the African coffee beans, followed by chocolate, vanilla and berries. Never did taste the sweet potatoes, but otherwise was as advertised and more. The Coffee and berries are fresh and pungent. Chocolate, a touch of vanilla and toffee round out the taste. Not too sweet, dense and creamy. A cut above.

From tap at BeerTemple, Amsterdam. Aroma is roasted malt, strong coffee, cocoa, espresso, fudge, lots of chocolate. Flavour is medium sweet and above moderate roasty bitter. Body is full. Another amazingly tasty variation on the Speedway.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color ale with a large dark brown foamy head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of roasted malt with some dry floral coffee notes and some black chocolate notes also perceptible. Taste is a great mix of dry roasted coffee notes with some floral notes, some black chocolate notes with a dry finish with some bitter notes. Body is not as full as I was expecting. Enjoyable but coffee notes are more bitter then I would have liked.
