Bottle from Hopt. Aroma is roasted malt with strong notes of oak, coffee, dark chocolate, bark, some dark fruit, espresso. Flavour is medium sweet with a roasty bitter finish. Body is medium to full. Nicely roasty and bitter and I dig the oak influence.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours black with foamy beige to tanned head which settles nicely. Has a moderate roasted malt with notes of chocolate, red wine, cherries, caramel, some herbal notes. Long bitter finish. Medium to full bodied. Very good character to this one.

Black with a frothy, beige head. Aroma dominated by oak. Underneath, roasted dark chocolate and mixed spices. Taste is bitter with a very faint tartness. Long, bitter oak-filled finish with coffee, nutmeg and coriander. Full-bodied, mild carbonation. Nice!

Bottle from Drinks Vanuxeem, Ploegsteert, Belgium. Pours black with a large thick foamy beige head. Aromas of chocolate and cherries, red berries, dry dark fruits and crusty brown bread. Taste is fairly complex with a mixture of the notes detected in the aroma with some added ashy smoky notes and also some herbal tones too. Nice tang on the finish. Beautifully balanced. Not really detecting any barrel notes. Full body, low carbonation and very smooth mouthfeel. Everything about this beer is just right. I will definitely be visiting this again some day. Fantastic beer. One of the finest Stouts i have tried.

Black with a minimal light brown head. A roasted malt aroma, with chocolate, dried fruit and wooden barrels sense. Sweet, light bitter with a dried fruit, chocolate and wooden barrels end.

(Draught at Gist, Brussels, 19 Oct 2022) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, herbs (mint, rosemary) and hints of oak wood. Malty, roasted taste with coffee, dark chocolate, herbs (roemary, thyme, mint) and a generous roasty/citric bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Rich, complex and tasty, with lots of herbal flavours. Very nice.

0.33 l bottle, best before July 2022, from an IP trade with fonefan, thanks a lot Jan! Black with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty, quite fruity aroma of cocoa, caramel, coffee, red wine and some cherry. Quite sweet, malty, fairly roasty, slightly fruity taste of cocoa, coffee, caramel, toasted hazelnut and some red wine, followed by a medium long, gently roasty-bitter, slightly earthy and a bit vinous finish. Medium body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Nice Belgian Stout, nicely vinous and saturating.
