A beer true to the traditional style of IPA but with some contemporary elements. The beer is 5% abv which enables it to be enjoyed by the pint as well as in bottle.

The hops used are New World hops which in general provide a more intense flavour and aroma than their European counterparts. The hops are added in three stages. The first addition is for bitterness and is added at the start of the boil, the second is for flavour and is added 5 minutes from the end of the boil and the third is added once the boil has finished and provides the hop aroma without the mouth drying effect of dry-hopping.

Bottle picked up at Morrisons Inverurie. It pours clear golden with a medium white head. The aroma is dusty, biscuit, doughy bread, touch of sweetness, earth and cereal. The taste is firmly dry, bitter, earthy, toothy, biscuit, bread, grassy, spicy hops and a toy H of alcohol with a drying finish. Medium body and fine, foamy carbonation. A bit toothy. Fair.

Bottle from a Morrisons in Glasgow. Amber in colour, with a decent, white, head. Pleasant pale ale, with some tropical fruit and citrus hops, a solid malt base and dryish, finish. Good.

Cask at the 22nd Watford beer festival, Watford, Herts. A golden/amber coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, floral, citrus aroma. Tastes a little unbalanced to me, slightly hoppy, floral, vaguely fruity, not much happening here.

Cask gravity at the 2016 Watford beer festival 4/11/2016. A very clear amber orange coloured pour with a loose white head. Aroma is a but sweaty, feet, hops, vague lemon, hint of vinegar tang. Flavour is composed of semi sweet burnt toffee malts, orange, sticky sweaty hop, caramel. Palate is semi sweet, viscous sticky hop and a little solvent in the finish. Not good.

330ml bottle from Beers52.com. Bright amber with a thin white head; tropical fruit aroma; thick, oily body with a good dosing of hops, giving a spicy bitterness and a lasting clean finish. A pleasant IPA.

500ml bottle poured into an Old Speckled Hen badged pint vase at home on 16th Feb 2015. Extremely lively pour with a huge white foaming head that filled the glass before I had a chance to stop pouring. It settled down OK and a pale golden body began to appear as the bubbles calmed and popped. Good hoppy nose with a hint of the bitterness to come: which it does by the bucket load in the taste. Really hop bitter in every corner, but in a good way. I really enjoyed this: during a random Monday tasting session with myself and Bertie, the dog!

330ml bottle at home. Pours golden, maybe a little pale for an IPA? Strong grapefruit aroma, taste is citrus with a slight chalky taste. Decent but nothing special
