On tap at Skipperkroen, Arendal Gjestehavn. It’s a hazy, almost golden beer topped by a creamy, two-finger thick, off-white head leaving lacings. There’s a nice, resiny, spiced hoppyness on the nose, with pale, biscuity malts in the back. The flavor has an appropriate level of bitterness, biscuity malty sweetness and some pinecone flavor from the hops. Medium body, quite dry. Good bitterness in the finish too. A nice pilsner, quenching and tasteful, making it an easy task to down six glasses. Certainly putting all other Norwegian Pilsners or "Pilsners" in the shadow. Hope it returns next year. 100703

Small white head. Lightly hazy yellow body with light carbonation. Light mealy floral aroma with coriander and sugar notes. Dry-sweet golden fruity floral taste with mealy grassy notes. Light body. Mealy sharpish mouthfeel. Fairly bitter. Dry-bitter papery mealy grassy aftertaste with dandelion notes. Nice, but a bit fruity for a pils, but highly drinkable. Clean, but could use more freshness. (0.35l draft at Beer Palace, Oslo.)

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Served very cold. Hazy golden colour, low head. The aroma has moderate notes of pilsener malts and floral hops. Fizzy mouthfeel. The flavour has a distinct hoppy bitterness from start to finish. Bitter aftertaste. Not much in the flavour to balance the bitterness - but this is clearly a thirstquenching pilsener, and far better than most of its more industrial competitors.

On tap at Skipperkroa. Slightly hazy, light golden, with a unimpressive whitish head and some lacing. It has lots of hops in it, in particular the bittering hops, which lingers on for a long time - and is quite out of style for a pilsner (but on the other hand, it is a pilsner with character). Medium body and creamy mouthfeel. Lots of fruitiness.

On tap @ Patricks. Hazy, golden orange body with a rather small but dense off-white head. Aroma is mild and fruity with the hops definitively present but not dominating. Flavor is very refreshing, fruity, malt, grain, a hint of citrus, a bit spicy and a nice, sharp bitter touch that remains crisp and clean in the aftertaste for a while. Nice body with a distinct flavor, one of the better Czech style pilsner I have tasted.
