Belgian Style - Strong Ale Winter|

Bursting and creamy foam, the olfactory spectrum is dominated by a strong fruitiness reminiscent of caramelized apples and Sicilian royal paste in the background. Ethyl in the mouth, with a soft onset immediately attacked by a sharp acid freshness. To be combined with a cold winter evening.

Tap at Malto, Riccione, Italy. Pours scarcely transparent, dark gold, with very fine white foam. Aroma is fruity and spiced. Body only partially dense, with moderate carbonation. Taste is fairly sweet. Final is fairly long and warm.

bottiglia 33 cl, schiuma scarsa bianco sporco fine evanescente, color ambrato torbido, al naso frutta matura mela cotta banana spezie esteri, in bocca è speziata frutta a pasta gialla mela cotta frutta candita, corpo rotondo, alcool ben in evidenza, carbonazione piatta, oily, molto dolce con amaro accentuato. Un po' grezzina e troppo piatta! L’avrei preferita più mossa. Comunque una buona birra di Natale. Ultima birre delle feste 2020. c. Beer-shop.it 02.01.21

18 December 2020. Christmas Beer Evening with the lovely Anke! Bottle from Pretesto, Bologna. Hazy brown, small, tan, head. Aroma of dried plum & apricot, hard caramel, pear, brioche, tea leaves, dark honey. Taste has sweet plum, apricot & red apple in a brioche- & honey-like malty body, bit sugary; notes of herbal tea & spices in the middle; ending herbal hoppy, with liquorice, honey, red apple & warming rum-like alcohol. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. Good effort but not convincing.

Picked up at Giangaspero Frutta e Verdure, Genoa, consumed at home whilst making Kale and Carrot soup Sunday 12th March 2017 Pours murky gold light amber with a white head. Slight sharp fruit on the nose, in the mouth anything but, in fact it’s far to sweet. It’s a touch gluey, plasticey and with a horrible artificial smell. Don’t like this at all, drain pour methinks. Light amber color, hazy, it pours almost flat, oily, with very small head eventually. Mild aroma of sugar and esters, some alcohol too. Sweet mouthfeel, with a good body strength, but also a bit oily; there are fruity esters, and a quite strong alcohol perception.
Nice beer, but it has too much sugar, it lacks of depth.
