Proof that even after 7000 ratings you can still find something new. I see only 7 other examples of pumpkin IPAs in the database, and this one comes via a growler filled at the brewery. Pours a hazy amber color with a large frothy white head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of pumpkin, earth, spicy hops, caramel and some burnt sugars. The taste is citrus and spicy hops, pumpkin, caramel. Medium bodied, average carbonation, moderate lingering bitterness, nice balance. Champion is known for wacky beers and some are off-putting to me, but I suspected this would work well, and I was right.
