A unique Highland creation, this robust beer is black in color, very malty with hints of chocolate-roasted flavor and a well balanced hop character.

Flavorful and dry, this above-average porter was a pleasant experience. At the same time, it did nothing to make me wake up and take notice. Average, light brown head above a dark brown body. Average to heavy toasted malt aroma of coffee and dark chocolate. Very little sweetness in the flavor. Instead, the hop bitterness came to the front quickly. The texture was thin and slightly gritty. Average carbonation. Bitter finish.

Bottle; Nose of coffee and roastiness; Clear dark brown, with a small tan head; Flavor of light raosted coffee, light hops, and grainy oatmeal from the medium body, hop bitterness in the finish lasts a long time.

Bottle at Kookfest 2006. Very dark brown, lasting beige head. Hoppy aroma, too hoppy for a porter. Good charcoal in mouth, some sourness. Pretty good finish now tooo. Dryness on end. It gets better as it goes on.

Bottle from ross - the color and carbonation of this beer make it look almost exactly like a glass of coke (not very appealing) - aroma of minerals, lactose, weak coffee and a faint whiff of oatmeal - moderately hoppy and roasty - medium-dry, with a slight milky quality - light sweet cream, coffee and a hint of cocoa - slight caramel and chocolate malts linger for a while in the finish - not bad, but I would pass up a second helping.

Bottle Pours Black with a hughe creamy tan head. Lots of blocky lacing. Nose of dark, toastd malts, some coffe and plenty of chocolate. A slight sour tang common to the style but not so much. Nice dark roasted flavor. Smokey and charcoly, but a bit sweet and the oats lend a nice slick but still fairly light feel. Smokey bitter sharp trailer. Nice

Bottle. Dark chocolate and molasses malt aroma. Dark brown color with small head. Strong chocolate malt flavor with a slight burnt grain and hops finish. Nice full palate which is closer to a stout in mouthfeel. A great porter.

An opaque brown beer with a huge tan head. The aroma is sweet roasted containing lots of chocolate. The flavor malty with strong notes of chocolate, but a sourness lingering in the back and the body is thin.

2004 bottle compliments of Jay (Springslicker) procured in an awesome trade, thanks! Dark black-brown color, mostly clear after it settles, with ruby highlights near the edges. Aroma of strong oats, light roast, some ash and perhaps brown sugar. Flavor is surprisingly very dry to start, but as it warms, some light caramel notes come on. Throughout there is ample oatmeal characteristic, smooth, creamy and lightly milky. Body is medium, with perhaps a touch of thinning. Dry barley on the finish. Low hop character, no alcohol. After it sits and warms fully, it is tremendously smooth, creamy and lightly sweet (toffee, caramel). Notes of more oats and a good amount of chocolate on the finish. Moderate carbonation. A bit too dry and less body than I would prefer overall.

Bottled, thanks SpringsLicker! Transparently black, lasting head. Grapefruit aroma. Dry and very aromatic with soft mouthfeel. The finish is really salty with good bitterness.

Rich creamy long lasting head on an almost opaque black beer. Strong light reveals rich red highlights. Smoky maltiness in the aroma which is deep and soft. Rich chocolatey , malt flavor. Very well done Porter.
