A nod to an ancient Celtic tradition of celebrating the changing of the seasons. Each year, the blooming of blackthorn in Ireland signaled the start of Spring. Blackthorn wood is also commonly used when making the shillelagh, the traditional wooden walking stick associated with Irish folklore.

Keg at Sedona Taphouse, 3/29/16. Clear dark brown, thin creamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, roasted malt. The taste is coffee, cream, roasted malt and a lactic twang. Medium bodied, mild lingering bitterness, well balanced.
