Draught at Københavnske Øldage 2011. Clear dark brown, small head. Aroma of honey and coffee. Sweet with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Thick layers of honey covers the coffee, fairly low bitterness. I prefer my coffee without sugar.

Medium brown head. Nearly opaque black body goes just barely translucent dark red. Mild roasty coffee aroma with honey and caramel notes. Dry-sweet roasty burnt caramel taste with mealy chocolatey notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dry roasty resiny burnt aftertaste with honeyish metallic notes. Very nice. Balanced, harmonic, and drinkable. (0.4l draft at Olympen, Oslo.)

On tap. Pours black with a beautiful ruby red glow and a creamy cappuchino-like head. Plenty of licorice in the nose, sweet Finnish licorice and some hard roast. There’s a slightly salty touch also but not a lot of honey. Some malt astringency with a slight tartness. 120311

From tap at MikkellerBar. Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted dark malty, liqourice and slight coffee. Sweet honey, dark roasted coffee to liqourice malty. Lasting lingering roasted and smooth sweetness coming through. Light herbal. Ends medium dry, bitter and dark roasted. Honey comes more through into the far finish. Very subdued smoked touch. Nice and elegant brew.
