On a pub in Mechelen. Tried a few sips. Dark brown colour. The kind of beer that you notice that sugar or syrup was added. Never tried a scotch ale so I cannot judge it well. Just didn't like it as a beer

27/VII/22 - 25cl bottle from a local supermarket, shared @ Ardenne Holiday, BB: 13/VIII/23, A12251419 (2022-950)
Clear red brown beer, huge aery bit irregular beige head, stable, adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: lots of (over)ripe banana, metallic, lots of caramel, a bit malty. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: lots of banana, a very gentle faint roast, bitter, pretty metallic, malty, some caramel, a bit sweet, more metallic. Aftertaste: a bit dirty, metallic, unpleasant, lots of banana peel, meh.

Bottle. Dark brown color. Rhummy aroma with mango. Sweet roasty flavor with pear and melon. Hint of cinnamon. Warming alcohol. Too sweet. Sticky mouthfeel.

Keg in Brussels. It pours clear deep ruby with a medium beige head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, oily, candy cane, candy floss, earthy, toasty grain, glacé cherry and dried fruits. The taste is slick, sweet, sticky, oily, glacé cherry, candy cane, clove rock, candy gloss, jammy, sugar and some alcohol kick with a slick, caramely finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Far too sweet for my liking.
