12 ounce bottle from Beer Run, 12/11/20. Like @hershiser2, opening this to celebrate a professional milestone, namely, finishing that fucking week with only a mild desire to pick up those five files for one client that are sitting my work at home office 15 feet away. I tried the original Soft-Serv many moons ago. A lactose beer before those were a thing. South Street was doing it before it was cool. I loved it. But then the brewing world went all ape-shit. So I guess its all South Street's fault? Onto the beer I guess. Black, large creamy brown head, good retention. Aroma of bourbon, roast, lactose. Taste is roast, dark fruits, bourbon, oak, lactose. Full bodied, mild booze. Prefer the non-barrel version, per usual. But its good.
