330ml bottle as part of a Christmas gift pack from Eric and Sylvie. Good to try again after 10 years. Delectable malty sweetness, soft grainy mouthfeel, excellent. Strange how I recognise the taste after all this time.

22nd Feb 2014: 330ml bottle from a shop in Cassel. Great tasting, unfiltered Biere de Garde with a nice dark brown colour and perfectly persistent cream-coloured head. Texture is nice and malty with a slight caramel influence. Overall very tasty beer and one I will have to pick up again next time I see it!

Tastes like a grassy version of a Vlaams oud Rood/Bruin. Slightly sour, with notes of wood. Nice.

BOTTLE from Cave. Head: beige, medium, frothy, avg. retention. Colour: chestnut, cloudy.

Aroma: malt, caramel, fig, slightly smoky, bitter-sweet dried hay/herbs.

Taste: dry with slight dried fruit note, quite strong bitterness.

Has that dry hay aroma that I see in many french craft ales.
