Cask @ JDW The Standing Order, Edinburgh 250912
Light amber, clear, dense white head, some lacing
Aroma - caramel malt, soft caley popcorn malt, hint of spicy cereal
Taste as aroma, slight aromatic tinge, quite a lot of rich pale malt with weetabix flavour, bit of a spicy edge, some yeast, it’s one od Calry’s better beers
Palate - soft carb, thin to medium body, a little viscous. Finish as main flavour.
Overall - Not usually a fan of Caley beers but this one was pretty OK

Cask. Yellowish golden colour with a small white head. Aroma is bready malts, mild toasted notes with some earthy and floral notes. Flavour is quite floral and grassy bitter hops along with some bready malts and mild earthy notes as well. Smooth palate and gets some slight floral and fruityness in the finish and aftertaste.

Cask (handpump) @ Guildford Arms, 1 West Register Street, Edinburgh, Scotland EH2 2AA.Clear medium yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, toasted, caramel, keller, nutty - earth notes, moderate hoppy, citrus, lemon. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20101030]

Light butter (of course, it’s Caledonian) but aroma overall is faint. Dull copper colour. Dull character - mellow - with pale malts and mushroomy notes. As advertised, I guess.

21st October 2010. On tap at the Goodmans Fields
Very light haze on this gold beer, little white head. A trace of sulphur on the nose. Dryish palate, slightly soft. Dry malt - a little citrus hop. Sulphur again. Drinkable but not very enjoyable. My friend was on his 5th pint of this when I turned up - as soon as I pointed out the sulphur in it he couldn’t drink any more! Ah the power of suggestion....

cask at radical road ... amber ...sweet fruit hop nose... sweet toffee malts ... little caramel .... light summer fruit. ... nice enough

Cask handpull at County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Pale gold colour, lasting white head. Touch of butter on the aroma, no surprise froa Caley beer there then? Some decent hop on the finish and ok body in the mouth. It’s in good condition. In fact it would be quite a decent golden ale if it wasn’t for the slight diacetyl.
