Pours a clear amber colour with a small scummy off white head. Aroma is sweet toffee and caramel with hints of vanilla. A rich creamy caramel flavour with an alcoholic warmth and an astringency in the finish. A little goes a long way. Updated 26/10/2018

Half-pint, cask at Triangle Tavern. Bubbly beige head over a bright copper coloured body. Fragile lacing. Smell of jam and alcohol. Mixed sweet taste profile of caramel and dried fruits, noticeable alcohol. Sweet fruity end. Far from great. (Lowestoft 08.07.2017).

Cask at the Triangle Tavern, Lowestoft, 21/11/16. Clear golden orange with a decent off white head that retains well. Nose is sweet malt, caramel, booze tunes, light honey, orange peel. Taste comprises caramel, sweet malt, fruit cake, candied orange, bread pudding, toasted grains. Full bodied, soft carbonation, light warming booze in the close. Easy drinking barley wine but a touch 1D. Some local chugged a pint of this (1pm) in less time than it took 2 of us to get through a half!
