Bottled from the Kernel brewery. Dark brown with a reddish tinge and decent off-white head. Aroma of caramel, dark fruits and chocolate. Flavour started sweet with more chocolate, some berries and a moderately bitter finish with some accompanying hops.

Bottle from the brewery. Dark reddish-brown pour with a beige head. Dark fruit and berry aromas with hints of chocolate and cinnamon. Initial flavour burst of chocolate followed by berries and a spot of licorice and caramel. Dry bitter finish with a tinge of sweet smokiness. Nice

50cl Bottle at Dutch RB Meeting, a gift from nate2g, thanks Nate! Dark brown colour, small off white head. Aroma of hard roasted malts, green hops, pine, liquorice (drop), wybertjes/laurel. Flavour is bitter, hard roasted malts, green stuff, pine, hops, very dry, liquorice. Light to medium bodied. Different, but a bit too harsh on the bitterness imo.

Bottled 500ml (BB 12/2012)
Bought from The Kernel Brewery. The bottle leaked on my bag and lost the most of CO2 and 1/3 of content on the way to home. My first beer from Redemption. Dark brown color, not much head (thanks to a leak, I suppose). Roasted chocolate aroma with nice hoppyness. Medium-bodied. Starts sweetish caramel, raisiny then strong hoppy bitterness with leads to long lingering bitterness in the aftertaste. Really interesting and pleasant strong "mild". Needs rerating sometime in the future.

Cask at the Jolly Butchers, London on 11th February 2011. Deep ruby with a thick cream head leaving a bubbly lace on the glass. Licquorice and berry fruits in aroma and ongoing in-mouth taste, but not overly sweet. A palate of berry fruit, cheesy yeasts and some earthy pungency form a complex aftertaste with a sweetish undertone. Some bitterness and tangy citrus late in finish. Thick, slightly viscous, mouthfeel. An interesting and complex pint.

Cask handpull at The Dean Swift with Chriso. According to Max the landlord at The Dean Swift this was a collaboration brew made at Redemption. Very deep ruby red beer with lasting beige head. Too hoppy to be a modern mild. Lovely choc flavour. Choc and hops. Good body. It’s damn good. Very good hoppy dark beer.
