This beer is dedicated to my mother … and to the memory of our Irish roots.
An unusual Irish stout made with seaweed (called dulse in Ireland) gathered from the coast near Belfast and smoked over an oak wood fire.
There is an ever-so-slight saltiness on the mouth and a smoky background to the nose: sea and burning oak.

Thank you for sharing Martinus! Sampled draft @ BXLBeerFest 2017. Smoked Irish seaweed, interesting, honestly didn’t get that. Black, tanned head. Nose is far too roasted for me, herbal, burned chocolate & cacao; taste is weak herbal, dry plastic, dough, little smoke but heavy roast. Bdoy herbal, plaster, too basic bitter roast & no balance.
