A lightly hazed golden ipa with a thin white head. In aroma, light biscuit malt with grassy floral hops, light mineral notes, OK. In mouth, a nice biscuit malt with grassy floral hops, grapefruit pulp, light mineral notes, pleasant. On tap at Whole Foods, P Street, DC.

Mosaic- and Simcoe-hopped American IPA by a Virginia micro brewery I never heard of before, sampled at BXL Beerfest. Lacing, snow white, moussy, medium thick head, lightly hazy peachy golden robe with pale orangey hue. Very dank aroma of wet marihuana, spruce resin, overripe onions, moldy oranges, lime zest. Lively fruity onset, lime and passion fruit sourishness mixed with stronger mango sweetness, softish carbo, smooth and fluffy middle, bready maltiness with that mango sweetness lingering, a tad honeyish at a certain point even, but evolving into the expected hop bitter finish, very dank again retronasally, grapefruity, piney and withering green herb-like, oniony; the bitterness as such remains relatively mild. Modern ’generic’ American IPA putting more emphasis on hop aroma than on hop bitterness - ten or twenty years ago it was the other way around. Nice one.

7 3 8 3 15 Draft at BXL Beer Fest, Brussels ’17. Near clear golden with an off white head. Aroma of dank hops, green weeds, citrus and tropical fruits. Flavour is light to light moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
