Bottle at the taproom. 2010 vintage. Slightly hazy, amber in color, more or less headless. Rather bretty aroma, with a touch of syrup and caramel. Alcohol too. Some bitterness in the mouth, a good dash of alcohol warmth and quite dry. Caramel, syrup and bretty flavors, lemon peel mostly. Long, warming finish. Well, not bad, not a favorite. 130811

Bottle thanks to a generous trader. Pours a hazy deep amber with a light brown head that dissipates completely. Aroma has a tart note up front with a bit of backing light funk, maple and a hint of earthy veggie. Flavor begins with light spice and yam that transitions in to a tart fruit and light funk.

Sampled at the DC Ratebeer Gathering. Pours a transparent copper amber with some cloudy, white head. Smells like fall, dried leaves, dried fruit, nutmeg, ginger, hazelnut, strawberry. Flavor is sweet, berries, sweet potato, light cherry cordial, brown sugar, celery, ginger, nutmeg, a little ketchup. Full bodied, sweet finish.

ChrisOs Christmas Tasting. Cloudy brown beer with a good creamy tan head. Nice vanilla wood nose. Light soft palate, low carbonation. Lightly creamy vanilla wood. Some medicinal fruit. The light sourness is nicely rounded off by the vanilla wood. Finishes soft and dry. Nice.

Bottle at Chris NY Tasting 2010. Cloudy brown. Lasting beige head. Maple on the aroma. Touch of wood. Does taste of baked beans. Little bit of woody sourness. Not awful. Would have liked more maple
