330ml bottle shared with jeevan. Pours clear copper red, no head. Earthy beetroot aromas, light fruit. Taste doesn’t really deliver, more earthy than anything else. Slight bitter finish. The Tinpot one with black pepper was better.

Bottle shared with (and great courtasy of) the fantastic Bergen tasting crew with such stars as ClubGonzo, Inbreak and Palme, and the mighty StoreMy. What an aweful start on such a great tasting evening! Pours a clear red colour with a small pink head, like a red lemonade or something. Expected aroma of beetroot, but with some earth, basement and potato/potato starch. Beet roots also dominates the flavour along with earth, sour roots, and radishes. Silky and extremely slick mouth feel. A new type of brew for me, but not a very good one. Too many aromas and flavours that should never be in a beer, and it get worse for every sip.

0.33l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. Pours a mindblowing beet-red body - really scared me this color! It also has a thin small quickly sidesticking head. The aroma has strong cellar tones, surprisingly hints of chocolate/cocoa and hints of good old canning. It's really flat and has a thin and watery texture. It tastes a bit like earthy un-treated beets. At first really unpleasing, but I managed to finish the glass. Almost no bitterness. Way out on the crazy-scale this "beer"! 13.04.2012

Bottle from Peckham’s Union Square. It pours bright red, with a thin pink head. The nose is all about beetroot and earth. The taste is beetroot, earth, gravel, turnip, grass, plastic and wood, with a dry finish. Light body and fine carbonation. Too thin. Too weird. Drain pour.

33cl bottle. Pours a cherry (or should that be beetroot) colour. There is a small amount of head. On the nose, it is beetrooty, earthy (like soil, literally) and perhaps a little fruity (maybe redcurrants). The taste is seriously full of topsoil, to the extent that the beetroot flavour is completely in the background and there is zero fruit. There is a hoppy dryness on the end, presumably from the hops. The palate is ok - it starts fairly chunky but cleans at the end. Overall, interesting nose but that’s where it peaks!

Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. A kriek lookalike. Candy red and almost clear, topped by a pink, dense, head. Pale malts, fruityness and an earthy touch to the aroma. Quite bitter in the mouth, with pale malts and a nice hoppyness. Medium body. I can’t say the beetroot is bad for the beer, but it’s not my choice of beer, that’s for sure. 110318
