Head gone in seconds, over amber-shot brown beer. Fruity nose, with some faint noble hops. Roasted, light coffee notes, getting more pronounced warming up. Finish is watery (I was going to write "British"). Light to medium bodied, slight slickness. Not bad, but (especially in our Danish tasting), unspectacular. Txs to Stef & Lieve!

Cask-conditioned at the Royal Oak, Bath 25/02/10. Near black with a hint of red and a slight, off-white head. Aroma of chocolate, roast malts and a slightly green, herbal edge. Flavour had plenty more chocolate, a savoury, sour edge and decent bitter finish. Very good.

On cask at The Rake, Man Utd victory party May 2009. End of the cask, good choccy beer. More a dark fruit choccy porter. Good beer. I was very very drunk when I rated this.

Cask at National Winter Ales Festival, Manchester 2008 Dark brown in colour, plenty of burnt wood, some nice roasty flavours but reminded more of a pumped up mild than a porter.
