Gut! 8/12/11/13/7/12

Draught @ Gastropub Nordic, Tampere. Rated on 15.06.2011
Aroma is rather hoppy with grapefruit and grass. Flavour has also lots of hops with grape and some belgian yeast. Not your typical saison, this can hardly be recognized to be one.

Bottle. It pours a two-finger white head over an unclear, golden body. The aroma is citrusy and piney, with some maltyness in the back. Citrus and pine cones are the most dominant part of the flavor too, some sweet maltyness in the back, and a decent bitterness all the way. Full-bodied and smooth. Maybe not your average saison, but it’s a tasteful beer, quenching and pleasant. Rating: 6-4-7-4-14-3.5. 110826

Bottle. It pours a creamy, off-white head, two fingers thick and with an unclear, golden-orange body. Lightly earthy and yeasty on the nose, quite orangey, piney and flowery, with a little maltyness. Some sweetness in the mouth, but quite dry, nicely carbonated and full-bodied. Fine bitterness in the flavor, pine cones and orange peel. Lasting bitterness in the end. Certainly a nice saison, but not very saison-ish if you are to use the Belgians as a reference. 111029

Draught at Ølbaren, Copenhagen
Hazy deep blond color, with the most beautiful whipped cream head. Very nice, fresh, aroma of lemon ice cream (lemon, lime, milk cream); chewing gum. It has both the strong character of spicy yeast and citrusy hop, with a very dry mouthfeel but that is quite smooth, and taking into some astringency in the end. Very satisfying.

08/05 0.5 l bottle courtesy of Marko via papso, great thanks to both for sharing! It poured hazy orange to brownish body with medium sized head. Fine, vivid tropical fruity aroma, with some cloves and yeast, touched with orange hops. Sweetish fruity malt flavor, but quite hoppy as well, very well balanced in between those papaya/mango stuff and orange/grass mix. It’s also full bodied, which is obviously a rule in Scandinavian ones, as much as bland ones are typical for France. What else can emerge from all of it than a nice long sweetish finish with just a touch of orange hoppiness at the end. Very nice.

Bottled. Cloudy straw colour, small head. Soapy perfumy hop aroma. Mid sweet with medium body and well rounded mouthfeel. Fruity with yeast induced banana flavours well covered in perfumy hops. Realy bitter finish.
