Nicht nur auf Beerdigungen immer beliebter. Die schwarze Spezialität aus Lenzkirch war schon um die Jahrhundertwende sehr gefragt und erlebt seit dem Ende der 80er eine Renaissance.

Gebraut nach dem alten Rezept der 2. Rogg Brauergeneration.

Bottle @ Ulfborg Weekend, Jan 2011. Pours dark amber with a small white head. Cabbage, dust and cabbage. Some sweet malts. Caramel and plastic.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours a clear nutty brown with an off-white head. Sweet roast and nuts in the nose. Medium body, sweet roast, some metal and blood and a dry chocolatey finish. 280111

Bottle bought at the brewery. Looks simple but good. Beer in the glass very dark, but not black. Starts mild, modest malty, not very dry. Finish a bit more fruity like plum. Well balanced, but too mild. Should be drier.

Bottled@One Pint Pub, Helsinki. Deep ambery brown colour, small beige head, nice lace. Aroma is mildly toasted as well as dark dry fruityness and some mild sweetness. Flavour is rather much the same. Interesting, but a bit thin palate.
