Its name is “Strong”, like its character. Its personality is regal, like the historical variety from which it descends and to which it belongs. A beer made with only the finest quality select malts, it harmoniously blends notes of liquorice and nuts with hints of roasted coffee. Before leaving the palate, it offers a pleasing aftertaste of hops that makes it unforgettable. After admiring the deep amber red colour, discover its sweetness – it will astound your senses once again.

Gelungen. (33cl bottle, with thanks to Quack-Duck) Clear, copper colour with a medium-sized light-beige foamy head. Sweet toast-malty aroma with caramel, alcohol and a whiff of herbal hops. Sweet flavour, quite full bodied with a well-carbonated, almost soft mouthfeel. Strong toasted malty base with caramel and subtle fruity notes; sweet toasty malty finish with a rather strong but also non-disturbing alcoholic touch and traces of herbal hops. Lacks a bit fruity Ale-character, blindfolded I´d guessed this one was a Doppelbock.

bottle, bought in Switzerland. Beautiful mahogany colour, large and persistent head. Creamy texture, caramelly flavopurw. The alcohol is clearly detectable and makes a warming impression. Slightly fruity, hints of raisin and roasted malt. Full of flavour. Hoppy fiish. Well-balanced and pleasant Strong Ale.

(Bottle 33 cl) Dark brownish with a reddish tint. Clear and filtered, basically without head. Very full body, very fruity almost vinous notes - port-like perhaps? nice balance between sweetness and bitterness. Extremely delicious Old Ale by English inspiration. 060205

Beautiful amber color. Malty aroma and flavor, maybe too sweet and too high wood sensation, like mature/oxydized wort…

An amber beer with a small disappearing head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel and hints of smoke. The flavor is sweet malty too and just like the aroma is has notes of caramel and hints of smoke. An OK beer without being something special.
