Fairly hazy deep golden, orange, peach and raw honey coloured body with a very thin, barely single centimetre tall pure white head that fades quickly to just a thin layer after a few seconds. Aroma of grass, hay, flowers, dank and resinous hops with a little note of candy and some grapefruit, too. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong dry and very herbal flavours show at first with a ton of grassiness and a small amount of pineapple and tropically flavours with a light touch of bitterness from the hops, but not very strong there. Aftertaste is basically crisp, dry, herbal, slightly perfumey and fairly straight-forward with a mellow touch of bitterness from the alpha acids of the hops, but it's not the primary set of flavours here. Overall, dry and grassy, like 'Hay' from the name, but this isn't juicy, not like a New England IPA at all, despite actually being from New England, and it's barely unfiltered - this is passable at best. Decent enough to try, but if I could do it again, I'd pass this one up entirely! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Total Wine in Arlington (Ballston), Virginia on 26-February-2021 for US$4,99, labelled 'Best Before' 27-July-2021, sampled at my house here in Washington on 27-February-2021.
