Deep, dark, eternal. The Umbral Abyss devours all that pierce its watery veil. Eons of crushed debris give testament to the nightmare.

Into the dark ancestry of Black Oktober we added brandy-soaked coffee beans and oak to create a fearsome Imperial Stout.

The Umbral Abyss is an ancient and damning place, dare you taste of its depths?

Bottle shared at CBC CG - cheers fellas. Pours oily black with a small, tan cream head. Meaty dark malts haunt the snout, with notes of raisins, liquorice. Medium to big sweet flavour with ample dried dark berries, light chocolate, some ashy roast. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Dry and ashy in the finish, more leathery dark berries. Good stuff.

Draft. A black beer with a lazing dark brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, and a bit of chili. The flavor is sweet with notes of coffee, lactose, roasted malt, and a bit of alcohol, leading to a dry roasted finish.

Bottle at Craft CG share. It pours opaque jet black with a tiny tan head. The aroma is earthy roasted malts, rich charred character, tar, wood, coffee grounds, leather, medicinal note and dark chocolate cake. The taste is dry, bitter, earthy, charred wood, warming alcohol, coffee grounds, coffee cake, bit of tannin and leather. Medium - Full body, fine carbonation and chewy mouth - feel. Pretty decent stuff, especially the aroma. Perhaps good have a bit more depth of flavour, but not bad overall.
