Bottle. A clear, dark golden beer with a clear, off-white head of small size. The aroma has a nice resiny hops on a sweet, toffee-ish background with bready notes. Caramel, pleasant citrusy and resiny hops, fruityness and a nice bitterness in the mouth. Medium to full-bodied and a pleasant carbonation. Pleasant finish with bitterness and malty sweetness. A really pleasant and easy drinkable beer. (081206)

Bottled at Monk’s Café, Stockholm. Clear amber, frothy head. Soapy perfumy nose. Fairly sweet with well rounded mouthfeel. Lightly caramelly with notes of hay, sulphur and perfume. Medium bitterness. Pleasant and unassaulting, well drinkable.

Medium offwhite head does not last. Amber body. Harmonic roasty nutty malty aroma with notes of wood, perfume, caramel, and toffee. Surprisingly aromatic for such a light beer. Dry-sweet malty wooden tea taste with caramelly roasty notes. Dusty mouthfeel. Mid-bodied. Dry wooden malty slightly metallic aftertaste. Lovely session beer! Light, and close to watery, but still tasty. (0.5l bottle, Centra, Oslo.)

500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.0%. Amber coloured beer, large off-white head. Moderate aroma of hops with a little malts, toffee and fruit. The flavour has decent hops and a little toffee and nuts, on a tolerable malty base. Dry and slightly woody finish.

Casked. A bit hazy golden colour, minor white head. Honey and fruity aroma with hints of flowery hops. Flavour is honey, hops and fruit. Wellbalanced. Surprisingly longlasting aftertaste in this one too. Also wooden hints.

Cask handpull, County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. I’ve had this several times and hadn’t realised that I hadn’t rated it. Shame that this isn’t a very good example of this beer. Copper colour, thin head. A malty bitter, but with an odd chemical flavour to it. First beer of the day out of the lines I think. Good hop finish though. Normally it is malty and full in mouth with good toffee and then a decent hop finish

My brother lives in Greet near Winchcombe so this gets a regular pasting from me when I am down there. A very refreshing amber beer with a nice tangy fruity bite, a decent beer that finishes with a flourish of hops.
