Half a pint (3,8%) at McHugh’s in Belfast. Clear golden with a white head. Slightly fruity and hoppy aroma with malt and hints of caramel, spices and citrus. Lightly fruity and quite bitter. Long bitter aftertaste. More flavour and bitterness than expected and a good session beer. (2011-06-10)

A pint taken at the 2010 Great British Beer Festival at Earls Court London on 4th August, handpulled into a festival straight sided sleeve pint glass. It was a 3.8%ABV straw blond coloured bitter, have they changed the beer completely and just kept the name? Anyway, the beer was fairly bland and odourless to be honest. I only had it so I could add Northern Ireland to my country list as I try to drink around the world:To be fair, it was a light session beer that didn’t have enough about it against some of the more robust beers I was trying on either side of it.

Cask at GBBF 2010. A golden beer with a thin yellowish head. The aroma has notes of citrush fruits. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of hay. The body is light and I find the beer boring.

@ Crown & Glory, Belfast. Brassy amber. Light fruity, curranty aroma maybe with some pears. Light and balanced, with faint yeasty fruitiness and toasty malt character. Pretty drinkable.
