at 6% abv, this is a real triumph of taste. The pungent bitter chocolate in the nose carries through as the backbone of the taste profile. This is a thick and full bodied porter, with a lactic creaminess combining nicely with a slightly chalky mouth feel. An undercurrent of ripe dark berries and chewy malts with a nicely roasted finish combine with a slight booziness to make this a real treat. Can’t believe this isn’t an Imperial!

Bottle. Clear, dark brown with a two finger tan head. A very mild porter but it still tastes great. Well balanced with notes of roasted grains and very light hints of chocolate.

Taste on draft at Trail's End. Pours dark brown, with a small, tan head. Light sherry nose, with some mild coffee, pipe smoke, and caramel. Sweet and lightly roasted. Medium body, with a smooth, silky, and thin mouthfeel. This is a fun and nicely aromatic porter.
